i've read all the books, but didn't like the films. the swedish version didn't follow the books that well, and had waaay too much focus on the sex scenes instead of the plot. too bad, because i enjoyed reading the books

First book was excellent. I'm 3/4 the way through book 2. I can see why it is not an ideal first date movie - the original name was "Men who hate women."

Just finished the movie (it fit perfectly between the two World CUp games).
I must say I enjoyed it immensely.

(Fwiw, I could not get past the first 50 pages of the book.)

Just saw the second one - "The Girl Who Played With Fire" . Very enjoyable as well. I really hope they don't do an Hollywood adaptation with Kristen Stewart or Avril Lavigne.

This makes sense to me. The dude in the Swedish version looked nothing like what the book described him to be, i.e. attractive.

True, but nobody in the movie was attractive at all, so that puts him in a much better light.

Strangely I read this one and don't remember much at all about it. I remember the first one vividly, the third one quite well, but the middle one...not so much.

i just saw it last night and really enjoyed it. i've read the first two books (first one a great airport read, as someone said ... very fast paced, very plotty; the second one just pretty slow). contrary to some other opinions, i remarked to my wife halfway through that almost everyone in the movie looked almost exactly like what i'd pictured they would when i read the book.
