Searched the thread and saw them mentioned once, but does anyone have experience with the Crown Northampton desert boots? They were compared to Jadd but I think I like the toebox more on these. I have a pair of Alden 1493 unlined chukkas in snuff but would like something even more casual to wear with jeans

I have a few pairs of Jadd desert boots and a pair of Crown Northampton. For me, the Crown feel much less structured and not particularly supportive. I wasn't mad about the finish, either. For me, Jadd boots fit really well and the company has the advantage in that Jadd will ask for the measurements of your feet and make the boots accordingly. Jadd boots are really well made and finished and they are ridiculously comfortable from the off.

I like how the vamp looks shorter than in other chukkas, I guess is because it has 3 eyelets.

Do you have a side photo of your chukka boots?

I feel that the vamp looks shorter, not because of the three eyelets but how the "ears" are designed, which are longer than usual, as I try to illustrate in the next image:

You could take a top view of some of your chukka boots alongside each other, just to compare.
