Natty Dundee’s today. For contrast, follow that is a pic of same pair when brand new. I’m same office and under same lighting.

Shaker heights MTO. One of my top 5 shoes easily.

Time for a polish though, I guess...

Isn’t it funny how us shoe guys are. I think I’ve seen just about every one of your pairs of shoes. These have got to be the ugliest creation among them. But, you love them. I’m the same way, I’ve got a pair of god awful ugly crap boots by no other than cole haan. But, I love the pieces of crap. Of course your ugly boots are way better than my cole haan....lol

LOL. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure and all that.

A few things about my beloved Shakers:

1) these look much better polished

2) they are as comfortable as a warm bed on a cold night. As far as I can tell this is the only boot AE ever made with vegano calf.

3) I am quite fond of the admittedly now passé herringbone tweed on leather look. I think it looks smashing with denim and casual 5 pocket cotton pants.

4) this was the first pair of boots that I literally lusted after. The first shoe that I saw that I absolutely had to have, and spent every waking hour plotting to get. The AE Spiaggia and Lobb Crepin 2009 were the two others.

5) I have worn these about 3x as often as any other pair of footwear that I own.

I knew there had to be a good story behind them.
