Not trying to give you a hard time but you also 100% didn't listen to me about checking out that LWB from Sanders over at Shoppers Find in Natick. (It's out of business now...just like Lord & Taylor's before it).
I did! Lol. I even live posted from the mall. Couldn’t find the shoes.

What is a 4 month wait, if one has pre-ordered Alden at one time.....4 months is child's play.
Yes—I would be HAPPY to wait 4 months at Alden (as opposed to the now year-long potential waitlist for some models).

The participation in this thread has declined over the last several years. It’s not just this thread, it’s these forum groups in general. Facebook groups have drawn users away, leveraging a platform that many of us already use.

The way I see it:
The AE Facebook group is larger, with more engagement among different people.

The Styleforum group is smaller, is shrinking, and costs money for AE to participate in. Additionally, there’s some overlap with people in the Styleforum thread participating in the Facebook group.

I don’t blame AE. Why pay for Styleforum when you can reach a larger audience for free?

The FB group has 13k members. We have like.... 20 (semi)regulars here?

Wow....my sincere apologies. What can I say I feel like an idiot haha. I just hate when people miss out.

Last order from the latest trunk show arrived today... worth the wait.

I am not going to lie: It's also worrying to me that AE thinks that affiliate vendor status is so expensive it isn't even worth it to continue to pursue.

The brand must be hurting majorly if they are cutting corners on things like this while raising prices.

This makes me think that instead of resolving the problems, they are just going to bury them. They would prefer if this thread didn't do too well, then no one would be bitching about Allen Edmonds quality.

I'm concerned.

What's the cost of being an affiliate ?

Don't know. It doesn't say in the affiliate thread. I would imagine it depends on what the admins can get out of major companies. I doubt they disclose anything here.

Think I got a bit lucky Monday night. I'd been following the factory sale, putting different shoes in my bag to check for discount. None of the shell pairs were discounted. After seeing Lauren's post that the price in creases were going into effect on the 24th I checked one more time about 11:30. Lo and behold the shoes had gone up to $795 but had a $100 reduction and were part of the factory sale - 30% off. Pressed order and picked them up yesterday. My SA was very impressed with the price I got.
