Here’s a pair of logo’d boots for you. Natural shell Freeports… at Monster Jam.

I was just watching a movie with my son tonight. About half way through it, he shut it off because he couldn’t take all the product placement. I didn’t even notice but he rattled off like 15 brands even down to a pair of Gucci socks.
I like my Freeports as boots, have had AE for a long time and think it's the best looking Moc-toe they have done. The extra material there on the tongue also affects comfort and fit. I found it difficult to get secure closure at the top speed hook because of the bulky mass in the way. Just wasn't thrilled with the Freeport enough to keep them, the Higgins Mill is more classic to me. The toe stitching and lasting on my pair wasn't great either, and I would never not be able to notice the asymmetry. I will say I liked the (black) lug sole alright. I still think it's a great looking boot. If I could find one in my best size (11.5B) instead of 11D I would have likely kept them. As suggested earlier though, I think the logo can to be removed if it's an issue for the wearer.
Yes, amongst AE's sparse legacy of crappy moc-toes, it does stand out ahead. I really do like the brown suede version though, as styled by several of our good members here.I like my Freeports as boots, have had AE for a long time and think it's the best looking Moc-toe they have done.
Is it really a moctoe?
What would be amazing is if they offered the Freeport in a suede trunk show. Just imagine getting a navy or bone suede Freeport… I’d kill for a bone/milkshake suede Freeport/Indy boot.
You might be on to something here! That would also do the trick. I wonder how gray would look to complement the sole. Medium brown might be the more obvious choice though.
Pulled a couple of old pairs that I thought might be headed to the scrapyard. Gave them each "one more chance" and cleaned them up. Both came out nicer than I thought they would. Haven't done a recraft in a while so one of these will be off to Wisconsin.
Which pair would you AE connoisseurs choose, and what would you have done, solewise?
Chili Byrons

or Chestnut Margates?

Leather sole, always leather....single, double oak, but leather....Pulled a couple of old pairs that I thought might be headed to the scrapyard. Gave them each "one more chance" and cleaned them up.
