I've got 3 sons and a son-in-law that I've started down this path buying deep discounts from Ashley. Next step was RDA and other sales. Now they send me requests for Trunk Shows, Winter Solstice celebrations and Birthdays.

Weaseling done wrong here friends. Learn from my mistakes.

Hamiltons to start the weekend.

These have inspired me to get lugs on my Hamiltons. Who did this for you?

Waiting for a haircut. OG Normandy. Getting wears in while I can before things get frigid.

Ok, I snell a rat here. Went for a two mile walk with my wife this morning and she developed a blister on her toe. Did the bandaid in her purse fix the problem? Hell no, she needed new boots to fix the issue. Luckily for her, the blister happened right in front of a women’s shoe mall. Never ever have I heard of a new pair of boots make a blister better. Mexico is no different than the US. A lot of Chinese made boots when it comes to the Brands. Even when we passed by a shoe factory that makes high quality shoes for the US, they can’t be bought in Mexico.

It's day 7 of plain toe week and it wraps up with the Gridiron on a football Sunday. Congrats to Texas for winning their game against OSU. The final score for plain toe makers was Florsheim 2, AE 2, Alden 2 and Hanover 1.

I wouldn't try 9.5 E, as the heel wouldn't be any smaller. I would try 9.5 D. If it were possible, I would also recommend 10 C, but I don't think AE makes many in C width anymore. 9.5 D might work for you.
I tried lacing them up tightly with a different lacing method and they seemed better, though still with some heel slip. 10 C might be a good idea—forgive the uninformed question, but would the C width be any shorter?

I believe so. AE does not mention this but I can say that all the E-width shoes I've bought were slightly longer than my D-widths (in the same length). It's not a huge difference though. @Shoenut would probably know for sure.

But also, what kind of leather are the Leeds? If it's shell, it would be normal that there would be a higher chance of heel slip. But also, a boot would be a lot easier to lock you in because of the extra leather above the ankles.

They're the regular calfskin.

Yes--Wyatt from @GrantStone mentioned in an interview once about proportionality re: wide sizings and length variations as compared to the D width. I don't actually know if it shifts downward for C, B, or A, but that would follow.

Upon closer inspection, noticed that these do have a significant defect...the heel counter stitching is incomplete. I'll be reaching out to AE to see what they can do for these.

Jesus. I spoke too soon. Yikes. Sorry, bud. That's pretty wild.

Would you accept $ back (say, adjustment to seconds pricing), or would you want to roll the dice on good color again?

Knowing how stitching works, those will eventually work their way back, but not sure if the other row will come undone. I don't think AE will be able to fix these cause it'll result in some pretty significant work.

I guess it would depend on what they could offer in terms of a discount for these or if they have additional UV Shell to make another shoe.
