I played TF competitively.
i feel exactly the same way, and who the hell wants to play an fps with a controller?
I hate playing fps on a PC. It's completely awkward to me. Give me a good PC fps game and I'll never touch a console.
+a gajillion.
I really don't understand what makes people love Halo so much. It's just... incredibly, perfectly generic and conventional. My ex thinks it's the best game ever. It's why we broke up.
+1Halo is fun because it is so smooth. The matchmaking is smooth. It's plug-and-play. The maps are perfectly balanced. It's not super-technical and it's not super-twitchy. In CS, it's no fun because people are so much better than you you die instantly. In Unreal it's annoying because it's like throwing a rubber bouncy-ball in a squash room - everybody gets hit and it's out of control. Halo(tries) to match you with people of a level. You can play it on your couch, with a friend, and drink a beer. It doesn't require you to map out the level with a protractor and a tape measure. And there are so many AWESOME MOMENTS in Halo. Running over a Banshee with your Warthog in mid-air. Jacking the Wraith and getting a Killamanjaro. Sniping someone out of a power-sliding 'hog turret. Assassinating 4 dudes with the flag and running across blood gulch for the score. Tank-battles. 6-way tank/aerial/jeep battles. You can't tell me it's generic, no way. It's just a refinement of all the best elements of shooters.
Hell, Far Cry was pretty ******* stupid and it had vastly better gameplay (or at least combat) than either Halo or HL2.

Does the mouse shake like a machine gun when you fire? Does it feel sort of like a gun in your hand? Does it give you tactile feedback when you pwn some poor ******'s head? No. That's why!
Varsity? Division A?
Are you serious? You like console FPS play--where you have VASTLY less fine control over you character and your aim--because the controller buzzes in your hand? Really?
