Sweaty feet....and sock issue?

My feet start to "sweat" (ie burning sensation) about 2PM... nope, no athlete's foot.

I wondering if anyone else has this issue? I wear Gold toe socks, which I think also stain the inside of my shoes. Sounds weird, I know. Not sure what else it could be.

I wear AE Park Ave or Senecas or Hillcrest usually.... not sure if that matters, but just providing facts.

Is it my socks? What should I be doing to minimize this sweating/burning during the afternoon?

Thanks
:embar:

Why not just try wearing a different pair of socks for a day and see if it makes a difference?

I'm not a med... are you sure it isn't bacterial? Is there smell? or just sweat? maybe your feet are dry and there are cracks?

look up on Amazon Chrystal stick, or the spray. it's alum. wiki that and read up on it. try soaking your feet in vinegar or using some of that salt spray.

well natural fibres are going to breath better so cotton or wool. having like 30-50% polyester or something will make them sweaty.

no smell. no dryness or cracks. feet are completely normal.

I think it's my socks (not the Johnny Walker I drink for lunch). I think you're right with the polyester/nylon not letting them breathe.

Will get some cotton socks and try some gold bond or foot powder too.

Socks with nylon or spandex could be the problem. Or just the chemical components used for the color. But these are just supposition, anyway for the best transpiration of the skin, always 100% natural fiber (100% cotton or 100% wool the best ones).

Synthetic materials in sock?
Topys on the soles of your shoes?
Rubber soled shoes?
Wearing the same shoe two or more days in a row?

Tell me which is it?

  • Synthetic materials in sock? - YES
Topys on the soles of your shoes? - NO
    Rubber soled shoes? - NO
Wearing the same shoe two or more days in a row? - YES. 2 days in a row MAX. In fact, I'm feeling it right now, and I didn't wear these shoes yesterday.
Gotta be the socks. I just never really noticed it until now.

Try a pair of socks that don't include any synthetic material. Cotton, wool, cashmere blends. I used to suffer from sweaty foot when I wore synthetic socks and used to have a burning right at the ball of my feet. Once I switched to all leather soled shoes, with non-synth socks and never wear the same pair within 2-3 days, use cedar trees and let my shoes dry properly, no more stank foot.

If there is a place nearby where you are right now try to run out and buy a pair of 100% cotton or wool socks. When back at the office, take off your shoes and socks and let your feet dry. Put on the socks and see if there is any difference. IF you can't do that, try the 100% [natural fiber socks] on a day when you can wear a pair of shoes that are totally dry and see if you still get the burn.

If so, it may be bacterial.

I have the same problem. Over the time, I figured out that 1) socks should have high percentage of cottons or natural fibers. 2) do not wear the same shoe in 2 days. 3) personally I just wear a different shoe each day. never repeat, which means you need 7-8 shoes. 4) if the shoe starts having the sweaty problem, get rid of it, and start a new shoe.
