At work, I've been told I come off as a "negative nancy". When asked for a review or my thoughts, I generally discuss the negative aspects or areas for improvement first.

This isn't because I think that everything everyone has ever done sucks; it's just that I don't get the urge to waste time with compliments and positive banter. Time is better spent improving! Onward upward! However I don't want to come off as unpleasant and I'm looking to change.

Anybody have books or advice on how to be a more positive person?

be confident and you'll feel you can accomplish anything. it makes you unafraid of setbacks. you'll then become more positive.

are you dutch?

if you cant be happy and positive just pretend you are happy and positive

maintain the charade for the short period of time you are at work and then forget about it all with a tall glass of whisky when you get home

Thanks!

One thought I've had is that I attribute a lot of my success to being negative. Every time I accomplish something, I think about how I could have done it better or accomplished more.

If I'm grateful, positive, etc. I'm afraid I might start being content with the status quo and not pushing so hard.
