Curious if anyone has any thoughts on Drake's AW 17 cord jacket with jeans. Not sure if it being double vented breaks any rules. Interesting Drakes only shows it with the matching pants and never with denim.

If a denim suit and velcro shoes is worthy of being on a runway, you're more than golden wearing that jacket with jeans.

The time has finally come.

I've waited, lurked in the dark, knowing that this day would arrive. How they haunted me, desecrated at the back of my closet never leaving my mind. A deep regret, a dark knowing, even as I tried to reject their influence and pursue sycophantic sartorial "pents". But it was no use, as you fashion neophytes worshiped at the pagan alter of skinny fit, I meticulously sharped my centre creases and tumble dried my lightest stonewash, preparing for the day these nefarious pleats could spread their wings and be embraced as fully fashionable in a cruel kiss of high-low death.

The pleated jean is neither from this world or the next. Upon making the devil's bargain, the wearer becomes fully enchanted by the post-ironic comfort of voluminous cotton; the stilted and formal crisp starch of the crease and pleat, yet warm and soft weft and wain of denim. Your mind becomes reconstituted, the memories of your loved ones fade, your family become mere shadows, and all previous pants are rendered unto the void. You know it to be true, these pleated jeans were forged in the fires of hell, confounding all logic and reason. There is no resistance to the alpha and the omega. Render and lay yourself low before the pleated jean and give it to the ultimate taboo... for the time of the pleated jean is nigh.

...legend speaks of another, a deliverer or a destroyer with even greater power capable of dominating even the pleated jean...a pant who's purpose is confused, that zips off at the knee to become shorts...but these are mere tales, let us hope these horrible nightmares never become reality.

This is impressive. While reading this, I honestly started considering pleated jeans until I remembered- they’re pleated jeans.

In theory, I think double vents only belong on suits. In reality, I have plenty double-vented sport coats, especially in tweeds and corduroy. That jacket looks awesome.

This is one of my favorite colors of corduroy to pair with jeans, especially darker ones. A dark suede shoe would really round out the outfit as well. For something even more casual a boot would look nice too.

Agreed, I never single vent, ever.

What is everyone thoughts on ties with jeans? Jason Chang does it and it always looks like it works great; Mashburn also looks good. I can't muster the courage to do so. I could potentially get on board with knit ties but even still it's a bridge I have yet to cross.

Strongly depends on the tie imho. I think heavily textured is ideal

I can only see this working well with thicker or textured ties — like knit ties or some woven wool ties.

Knits and simple wool ties work with dark jeans. I also like muted colored silk rep ties in Fall and Winter such as this one by Drakes. (Spring and Summer I go lighter with linen, silk knits or brighter silk prints)
