By the way, I got a lead on a tailor in the Bay Area that used to work for Levis tailor shop who now makes custom jeans. So, that dream pair that you've always wanted is now a possibility. He is making a pair based upon a Levis 1954 cut but with some crazy-wonderful Japanese denim. Deets to follow...
Agreed, non-cuffed jeans rarely ever works imho, the cut would have to be in its own league.I'm with Erik on non-cuffed looking dad jean-y to me.
Speaking of cuff, can anyone recommend a tailor to shorten the cuff and use a hardier stitch pattern? I'm not looking for the "cut the hem, shorten, and sew over" as the jeans are selvedge but when tailors shorten jeans for me they just use a single stitch.

Here are some old favorites from both camps. How about posting a pic of what you think is a good example or your own favorite length, taper or no taper and cuff or no cuff? Which ever style you prefer.
