Spiewak and other winter coats

I just saw the Spiewak's jacket that Jason purchased and I have to say it looks hella cool. Could anybody give me some cues on how these jackets are fitting (i.e.: a small on a 36 chest would be relaxed or fitted)?

I dig this coat but I am not sure it'd be warm enough. Canada is pretty damn cold and I'm looking for a jacket that would be serviceable for the worse winter days of them all. My Lacoste wool coat, while nice, isn't that effective against the wind.

To add on to Histrion's post, are there any companies that make a nice military-style down jacket? Winter in Winnipeg is by far the worst, and most down jacket are just too techy / sporty / un-stylish.

*I know Canada Goose is one, but the hefty price coupled with the fact that I wouldn't be staying in Canada for more than 2 more years makes it a moot purchase.

Histrion, I bought my flight jacket in a size S and it figs like a glove for my 38" chest. If you are a 36 I'd imagine it'd fit nice and relaxed, but not tight. They have some nice stuff on their website that I'd like to see in real life. The pricing wasnt overly high, $175 for the jacket I got Spiewalk Collection

If you like the workwear style, check out Dunderdon. I am really digging the J-25 coated canvas jacket. I am really bad at estimating what's warm enough though... Thanks for the tip. I actually wanted something that'd fit snuggly. Hum... that's the problem with being a small; often sizing down isn't even possible.

Don't buy the Spiewak "Maguire" flight jacket from Barneys....paid $175+tax for it and today I just picked one up at Active Pro Shop for $130.....so the Barneys jacket is going back.

I have a Spiewak M65 style coat from last season. Great quality for the price and surprisingly warm thinsulate. It fits my 37 chest nice and snug (size Small), but the fitting depends on the jacket style so you might not be so lucky.

I wore it for most of the winter last year in Edmonton, but I froze once it got really cold in January.
