It's finally hotting up here, and It's just getting uncomfortable to be wearing wool suits all the time, even lightweight ones. I've just got my Christmas bonus and i've decided to spend a fair chunk of it on myself (after ive bought the gf her fair share).

Help dress me gents, give me ideas on lightweight and comfortable summer wear as I'm starting afresh.

Work wear, casual wear, give me the style forum treatment.

I work in the legal profession if that helps narrow down the workwear part, but it's a boutique firm and only suit up when we meet clients/barristers or on the odd occasion go to court.

P.S. I tried searching for previous threads... gave up since the search system isn't fantastic.

Linen and/or seersucker shirts + sport coats will be your friend when it is hot and humid. Stick to cotton or linen trousers and you will be fine. Presumably you will be wearing lighter colors and invoking the full spectrum of whites, beige's, tans, light blues etc... I dont think you will be getting many comments from Styleforum - most of us here are gripped in mid-winter so we are 2 seasons apart.

For suits, sportcoats, and dress pants - tropical weight weight should be appropriate. Probably wool/linen, also. Lightweight underwear, please. For shirts, linen and seersucker might be too casual for work.

How important is full vs half canvas to you for heavier sport jackets?
