Socks with sandals

I can think of nothing more egregious to styleforum fashion etiquette than wearing socks with sandals, but this will need to change, immediately. New evidence suggests that wearing socks with sandals will project unparalleled and unassailable fashion sophistication, namely the discovery that Romans wore socks with their sandals. Italy is the center of fashion and Roman is about as classic as it gets. Seriously though, besides the beach or pool side (exception only) why do men wear sandals? Isn't it obvious men's feet should not be seen!!!!!!! (this applys to women who have feet that look like men's)
