From my experiences Mammut makes a pretty slim cut...more so than Arcteryx or NAU. I own the Mammut Laser Jacket and have had it for ~4-5 years with very frequent use. I had to replace the zipper but the jacket comes with a warranty, so I only paid shipping cost and now it is good as new. Good luck.

I have a Mont Bell puffer vest. It is well made and has a nice look to it.

The problem generally with Japanese clothing is the short sleeves. MB definitely has that issue for me.

I'd give Nanamica a shot if I were you. They're the guys who hold the license for TNF Purple Label in Japan and just distribute similar products to the rest of the world under their own name.

Which vest do you have? I tried on the Alpine down vest last month and didn't quite like it. Granted, I feel like Mont Bell sells diff. products in the US and Japanese products.

MontBell Ultralight Thermawrap Vest - very lightweight.

Still bunches a little bit at the bottom which is just something that seems to be unavoidable with these sorts of vests.
