Slim cut overcoats?

Clearly there is a lot of information about slim cut shirts on the forum. What about slim cut overcoats?

I tried on a Canali at Bloomingdale's that was slim fitting and quite impressive overall, but a little rich for my wallet currently.

What other labels are making quality slim fitting overcoats?

Did you try merely sizing down? I have been finding that overcoats are cut horribly big.

While not a brand known for their classic stuff I have a camelhair Dolce Gabbana topcoat that is impeccable. It is very slim and streamlined with a fly front, but completely appropriate for business use.

Just as with a suit coat, find something that fits your shoulders and have a tailor trim it down.

Huntsman,

Yes, I did try sizing down. It definitely helps, but does not give me the sleek, athletic fit that I'm ideally looking for.

I have a D&G DB that is very slim and also a slim cut Prada wool overcoat. They are nice coats but I haven't worn either this season. My go-to overcoat is an old cashmere overcoat that I bought at Lord & Taylor many years ago. I had it taken in the beginning of this season and it now fits me perfectly and looks better than the fashion coats.

Supposedly RL Black Label made a nice one in the past but I haven't seen it.

Many have them made for them. But I've found a few posts on here from people that were unsatisfied with their MTM coats.

If you search you can see other members talk about more frugal options from Zara, H&M, and French Connection.

I have three slim cut overcoats by Z Zegna. A black moleskin, grey plaid wool, and a black twill. Very clean and simple, chest pocket, 3 btn, and leather undercollars which I think is a nice touch. They retail for around $1000.

The one I have has the softest shoulders I've ever seen on an overcoat. They're roped though - so you've got to like that. The overall quality of the garment is very impressive, and so is the fabric used.

I saw two on STP and neither looked slim in the slightest so I'm going to assume they either take bad pictures or don't have the slim models right now?

I only have one and it is very slim. If planning to wear it on top of a suit/jacket, one should buy normal Isaia size; if worn without jacket, probably size down 1

I cannot tell you if the current STP coats are the exact same cut - but I would assume they're as slim as mine. There's no way you could see that on a picture IMO
