Judging by all the wax caked in between the broguing and punched holes I'd say too much wax was applied.

No, the opposite. It may vary based on your foot volume, but the usual advice for Carmina Simpson is to only subtract a half size, so 8US=7.5UK in Simpson. If you have low volume feet, perhaps you could do a 7. Unfortunately, I don't have enough experience to give a definitive answer, but I certainly wouldn't go down 1.5.

I'm also an 8d (almost e on right foot) and & went with UK7 on the field boot.

I asked Gabriel for measurements and the 6.5UK is quite short. I have Carmina rain and Robert in 7.5UK and they are just a tad too big, I have to wear thicker socks with them. I thought I might need to size down a full size since boots tend to have a bit more volume, but measuring my fleet of carmina, Vass, and EG, 7UK seemed the way to go for this boot.

Hope that essay helps

I'm an 8.25D and went with the 243 last monks in UK7 and they fit great with dress socks. With the mention that the field boot is less volume than the 234 I opted to go for a UK7.5. So it's sounds like you 8D guys are on the right track with the UK7 imo.

This is perfect. I was thinking to go with a UK7/US8, so that's what I'll go with. I also emailed Skoak and they agreed to go with a UK7.

Hi guys, I am thinking of getting a pair of G&G boots in MH71 (or CG06) last, but am not quite sure which size to get.

I usually fit in shoes with size UK9, US10 and EU43. Currently, I am wearing UK9 for Carmina Rain last and UK9 for Alfred Sargent Drake.

I have read that in general for G&G I should get half a size down (in UK size) from the normal US size. Is it true? Does that mean I should get UK9.5? As it's a pair of boots, should I size up to UK10?

Thanks in advance!

If you are a UK 9 in Carmina Rain a UK 9 MH 71 will be too narrow and a 9.5 probably a bit long. I suggest UK 9 in a wide (F) fitting. It's what I wear.
