Should I shave for black tie events?

I keep a short, just-longer-than-stubble beard year round. I have a black tie event coming up, along with more evening cocktail attire events. I live in SoCal. Should I shave for these events? I genuinely hate the way I look clean-shaven. Photos for context:

Yes you should.
BTW pic doesn’t show a beard just someone too lazy to shave!
If someone goes to the trouble / commitment of acquiring and executing traditional black tie it looks awful when that person couldn’t be bothered to shave.

No, you should not.
You can have a 3mm stubble as long as it's neetly trimmed all over and you shaved your cheeks and neck

No need to shave, if the short beard is your usual look. As @St1X said, just shave the neck and have a clean contour on the cheeks, that's all.

IMO when you keep facial hair that short it just looks like you didn’t shave that day. You should probably grow it a little longer to look more intentional.

To answer your question, I don’t think people will care if you shave either way since it’s so short normally.
