Thanks, I had a pair of scamosciato highs that I wore through an entire winter with no problems, thought the shoes would hold up better. I blame sebastien meunier, he altered the design on those creeper too to make the soles thinner.

Thin soles creepers are a travesty, like those awful RO boots. Docs and the likes are a natural fit with all that Margaret Howell & co. stuff anyway, for something sturdier I'd maybe look at things like Paraboot etc (though the models I have in mind tend to favor a split toe design which I'll admit is an acquired taste).

Hi fellows I am considering to buy an overcoat amid the sales. I am thinking of getting overcoat from Boligoli or Paul Smith.
Budget around 700 euros. Can I have some advice? Thanks.

Just posted at a wrong thread sorry.

^ That seems OK, although it looks a little short. Kind of depends on your taste and how you plan to wear it. Personally prefer longer coats, but not everyone does.

Haven't owned an overcoat like this before. Which brand would you recommend?

I got a pair of Church's Newbridge then sold them. Haven't found anything since. Figured a thick sole looks better and is more practical in winter than a topied sole.

What was the conclusion to the Newbridges, the sole just not thick enough? I like the shape

I'm happy with my Dr Marten MIE Arthur boots. Sturdy, good enough quality and it doesn't bother me if they get beat up. If laced tight and polished they look can look quite sleek.
Have been versatile enough for me to be worn with everything from Dries to Peir and Margaret Howell.

Just looked through Paraboot's collection and the Miyazaki style looks decent.

These from Buttero might be an alternative to Docs.

I'll second this, by far the best boots I've been able to find in my price-range both in regards to style and quality, they're really nice. Have gotten asked what they are by a couple SAs in various stores.
Goes with most things in my wardrobe, both more "elegant" outfits as well as more aggresive stuff.

Also doesn't hurt that they're pretty comfortable from the start and only get better.

+1
A couple of people thought they were a lot more expensive than they are.
