Haha, I'll do my best! Starts off as a strong citrus, leathery kind of scent. The dry-down on me has a very cool vanilla note, and a little citrus. I'm still an amateur with this whole fragrance thing, but that's what it smells like to me. I wouldn't say it's mind-blowingly amazing, but the longevity is very good, and like I said, the dry-down sells the scent.

My girlfriend actually prefers this to anything I've ever worn, scent wise, if that means anything. The story behind this cologne seems a little farfetched to me, but hey it smells good.

Pre-shower: Creed 2000 Fleurs. I hope I don't take anyone aback with my frankness on this point, but I can't believe Creed actually thought anyone--man, woman, or child--would enjoy the smell of this fragrance. I have not worn this for a couple of years, and now I remember why.

I do like Declaration!

I ran with D&G PH. Not sure why this was groundbreaking when it came out, not as big of a fan of this as light blue.

Have you tried Declaration d'un Soir? (Or is that the one you meant?) I'm a big fan, largely because of the rose note.

Versace L'Homme today. I picked this up in the op shop with the Phul-Nana. Can anyone tell me if this bottle is the vintage or the current formulation?

^^ That is the original bottle, from 1984. That should definitely be pre-reformulation. (I believe there have been three different bottles for this fragrance.)

Have you smelled the Phul-Nana? Does it smell anything like the current formulation?

The vintage Phul-Nana smells very flowery and powdery. I haven't come across the new one, so I can't compare it, but the BN entry says there should be citrusy top notes, which aren't present in my bottle.

There's some citrus at the top of the new one, but the first impression you get is still that of a sweet, powdery, opulent, old-fashioned floral.
