This is terribly sad news...he was an intensely passionate shoemaker who loved his craft. He was a close friend of mine visiting me both in the U.S. as well as me visiting him and his family in Vigevano.

No personal experience with him, but I've heard nothing but good things, and his work obviously spoke for itself. Terribly sad news indeed.

That's a sad news. I met his staff last week in his workshop in Vigevano, even I never met him in person but he is definitely very nice to work with! May he RIP and condolences to Bestetti family .
