Couldn't find a particularly compelling example online. My preference is to have a touch more waist suppression/shape in the jacket, and a slimmer cut to the sleeves (with some cuff showing).

More along the lines of the second option. It's not at all appropriate according to traditional english rules. Perhaps he's following in his great-great uncle's footsteps in trying to get rid of distinctions he considers pointless.
