I live in Seattle. You have no idea how bad it is. No. Idea.

Oh trust me, I do know—I go to school in the Boston-area after all, and Boston can be obnoxious as hell.

Macklemore also has some song about Irish pride; kids at school here go ******* nuts for it because there's still some ridiculously overblown sense of "Irish pride" even though that just means drinking a **** ton of Guinness and singing shanties.

where you at thewho? i go to school in cambridge but i'm taking a year off to work as a .NET developer for a medical tech startup in NH. i commute so i'm still living in the GBA

this is a stupid question, but here goes..

so i just got my amex green and will be using it for basically every purchase that would normally go on my debit card. right now my balance is, say, $250, but the amount 'due' is only $115 -- I thought I had to pay the balance every month? has the amount due just not updated yet?

I hope you'll understand, but I prefer being ambiguous about where I go to school (though I can't imagine it's too difficult to figure out). I'll shoot you a pm though.

Hah, I know. From the area originally, still prefer Massholes to West Coasters.

There's a month delay, so you spent $115 in your billing period (the month, can start on any date), the rest was spent in your "February" billing period.

I just pay the whole thing off usually, though, so if you pay $250 it'll credit it to next month.

MBV putting out a new album; Black Flag (or one version of it) reuniting; Jeff Mangum touring...

speaking of which, anyone catch Mangum? Just wonder if it's as good as you would hope.

RFT: I haven't been stacking any of my pants for some time now. It's been all pinrolling and cuffing (no break, usually above the ankle) for me, and I think I'm going to keep it that way.

Just looked up Macklemore. Seriously dislike that "white-middle-class-funny-ironic-rap". Basically hiphop for guys who never liked hiphop. Not only that, but the whole concept and sound is so tired.

If I want "funny" hiphop, I'd much rather listen to some Ludacris, Lil B or any over-the-top south side rapper.

Edit: just listened to some more of his stuff and realized not all of it was like that. Based the above on "thrift shop". Anyway, don't like his other songs either. Poppy hiphop is not my thing at all.

The first Macklemore song I heard was Same Love, thought it was ok. Then I looked up some of his other stuff and it's terrible.
