I was torn between a 250 and a 600 when I started because I really didn't think I had enough money to get a 250 then upgrade to a 600 only a season later. I decided on the 250 and I defiantly think I'm a better rider because of it.

My first and only bike was a 750. The only time I dropped it was during my (first) riding exam. I would definitely at least recommend borrowing someone's 250 for the exam.
