I agree, however in past people have, for instance, scoffed at the suggestion that one might ever want topys, which IMHO is a perfectly reasonable idea in a rainforest. When I first moved here I actually had to deal with a mould problem in my shoes because it was so wet all the time.

Many nicer leather pieces still come with a cover, although what I've seen hasn't been either fitted or made of canvas.

I agree with you on the Topys. I use them because I have no interest in resoling my leather shoes, ever.

I haven't had any problem with my non-ground touching leather goods and we live in the same city.

I use the purse rain cover by CloverSac to protect my handbag on a rainy day. It acts like a raincoat for your purses=.
