I bought some C&J Drummond's in 7.5E (usually an 8 UK) as they were the last size left and 40% off.
The length is fine but are tight around the widest part of my foot, right before the toes.
I've worn them a couple of times for short periods to try and break them in and whilst they're better, they're still tight.
Is it likely that the last is wrong for me or they just need a few more wears to stretch?

I'm a UK 8E in most of my C&Js too, but have Drummonds in UK 8.5E. They are a little long and I probably should have gone with UK 8E, but I feel like they might be too narrow in that size too.

Interesting they are a 8.5, but the seller stated they fit like a US 10 D !?

I'm guessing...he has no idea. his other feedback on ebay indicates he doesn't sell shoes normally

240 last made by C&J

is the 240 last a Brooks Brothers only last? cant recall seeing it on other shoes, maybe also RL?

Yes 240 is BB-exclusive. It's a last that BB acquired when they purchased Peal & Co.'s name & assets.
