    Hi,
I am about to purchase my next pair of C&J; "Bradford Shell Cordovan" are my selection.
    But
What hesitate me was sizing&fitting issue I have a broad&short feet like a Hobbit.
I am really concern about elongate forepart of my footwear, Hate to see myself wearing a clown shoe.
    I do own : C&J Last 335&325 size UK10
both are perfect length with my casual attire and snug fit at first
(getting much more comfortable after break-in).
So, My question is what size should I order for Bradford Shell Cordovan?

    Thank you very much

Thanks for the response. I did hear that they serve that purpose.

Can anybody else comment on their experience with the double row of nails as a protector? Sufficient? Or did you add anything to it?

Absolutely loving my C&J handgrade black belgrave captoes. Unbelievable fit and quality. Shape is elegant and timeless too.

It's been quiet here. Cardigan 4s on a sunny Spring Northern California day.

To answer my own question, I contacted Nick at B. Nelson shoes, and he said that sunken toe plates can be added, even if there are nails. So off to Nick they go...

PSA: There are a few Brooks Brothers C&J shoes on sale (clearanced?) right now. Normally priced over $600 are now $348.

Wore my Connaught's today for Friday. These are breaking in nicely. C&J are definitely a slower break-in than Allen Edmonds.

Maybe you should try a different last?

Takes time for me to break into AEs, while the 348 last for C&J is perfect out of the box for my feet.

I've only worn them about 12 times. The footbed is what I meant, not the upper. It takes a while for the insole at the ball to become more comfortable. The 236 last is a little wide at the center of the shoe, but otherwise fits fine. I would probably do better with a slightly more narrow last.

Can someone give me the skinny on ordering directly from the UK to take advantage of UK pricing? This is a "thing" correct? Have a lust for some Skye II's and would like to get as good a deal as possible. Thanks in advance.

Couldn't tell you how to order but the Skye 2s are great. Get them.

Yeah, they really look nice. little worried about the sizing. I'm at TTS 9.5D US. In Alden I'm a 9D or 9E in Barrie last, and a 9.5D in Grant. I think I would be a 9E Uk sizing for these.

Still looking for help with the UK contact and how all that work. I apparently can't get on the UK site from the US anymore. strange.

I personally think you might be a 8E or 8.5E UK depending how you fit your Aldens. I'm a 8d in the Barrie and it fits comfortably and I take the CJ Cardigan 4 in 7E UK which is the same last as the Skye II. If you can visit Sky Valet Shoes in DC maybe you can get fitted?

    I'd say you're a UK 8.5. I am a 9.5 D in Barrie and trubalance and 10 in Grant and Aberdeen. I wear a UK 9 in all C&J lasts.

Thanks for the sizing advice. sounds like I am probably an 8.5E UK, but best corse of action is to visit Sky and get sized. I always feel guilty going to a shop to get fitted for something I am most likely going to order online, but may have to make the exception in this case. Sky has repaired numerous shoes for me in the past, so at least they have had my business before

    Is that Lauren's Direct email?

Does anyone know what the going rate for the Skye IIs direct from the UK is these days?

    Thanks again!

Will C&J do Hand Grade quality on a last/model that is normally their regular grade?

Or, when re-soling bench grade shoes, will they do a hand grade sole?
