Actually, I also do not like the new SS24 collection. But those seasonal collections have been growing more and more uninteresting for me for the last two years. It seems, C&J is moving towards more casual footwear. Of course, that is what customers demand.

But it could even get worse:

Well, those are ladies shoes, and not that bad in my eyes.

But I would agree that even the most classic and traditional brands are adding more and more casual styles. A fact I don't like, but, as you say, it would be the answer to the market demands.

I'm fine with it if these more casual shoes help keep C&J in business and they keep offering the styles we like. Some innovations like the City or Superflex soles work for more classic designs too.

Of course any business has to be profitable. I just hope they don't lose the bond with their legacy and the commitment to quality and tradition.

My wardrobe has shifted from suits to casual in the last 5 years. So I’m happy to see the C&J range becoming broader. A quality offer for every occasion.

I agree but say that to ppl from to rainiest region in Europe (not U.K.) 😂
although alot of the shoe people will say that leather is or can be quite usable in wet conditions. I guess it depends on your tolerance for it. I certainly put away most of my leather for winter/rain here (UK). Its like suede - certainly could be used in the rain but I tend not to.

Tricker's - who pride themselves on the 'country shoe' even have a triple leather sole which they say is weather proof.
