Agreed. I don't think I've done any shoe care all year. Of course, I only wear shoes/boots 1-2 times a month and might have too many in the rotation too :)

When you have a fairly decent rotation, standard shoe care routines are almost overkill.

Which, when asked about it, I always say the best purchase(s) one can make are good solid horsehair & goathair brushes. It's an easy and inexpensive way to extend the life of uppers and keep them looking great, barring an individual has an average rotation of course.

Thank you. Have you received the Saphir cream in Light Hazelnut yet? Just wondering if this is a better colour match than Light Brown, which looks a bit orange to me.

It will arrive tomorrow or soon after. Then I will do a picture with the open cans and pieces of paper with the cream applied next to the Tan Coniston.
I will not treat the boots, they are too new.

Very nice
Are these from Pockets UK, mate, if so glad I can be of service
Yes they are!!
Thank you for the heads up...always a pleasant surprise when a UK13 size is in stock. Shipping to Singapore cost a bomb but it is what it is. Otherwise the 15% discount and non-VAT pricing made it a good deal for a black dress boot (in my scenario).

Just made my first trip to a C & J store (actually 2 stores) and came home with these pairs. I was intending to get the Bostons but they didn’t fit well.

If anyone finds themselves in NYC, go to the Soho store. The service on Madison was horrible. I still bought one pair of drivers, but they essentially ignored me and once I got help it was some of the worst service I’ve experienced (and there was maybe 2 other people there).

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I found myself walking by the soho store (where I bought the blue ones) and the service was impeccable. The person I worked with so nice and friendly. The store itself is just a better vibe and more welcoming.

Maybe it’s an uptown thing - I also went to Alden and Carmina and got awful service. Everyone working at any store in Soho was much more pleasant.

Anyway, really happy I got to try on both of these in person and glad I also stopped into the soho store. I’d just skip uptown next time I’m here.

Never really had to interact with the staff at the midtown store, so don't know about them.

Carmina seemed fine to me.

Yeah, it's too bad they weren't able to help you out alot at the Madison store 🙁. They were pretty good when I went there in June. Must be the dog days of summer I guess.

Yeah, Alden madison was the same with us. Couldn't be bothered with getting up from behind the desk...

But, Carmina was also pretty good with us and we get a free belt with our purchase!

Glad you were able to get fitted and get the shoes that you wanted and found you a good shop! We'll have to visit the Soho store next time 😁.

I wouldn't worry to much about those those after purchasing C&J! Their loss! My favourite brand amongst the 3 mentioned.
