I have a Luciano Barbera tweed suit to sell, but there are few of them on eBay at the moment - I'm curious if anyone could suggest an opening and BIN price. I just want to be reasonable. It's a 50 with a 8 cm drop. Three buttons, double vent. Thanks.

There is a similar one w/o the windowpane listed with a $450 BIN price at the moment.

Doing a completed item search doesn't show much.

14 ended, only three sold. A navy blue pinstripe sold for $520.

I'd say $400-500 is a safe bet, since it's a common size.

Is it Collezione Sartoriale?
If yes, I would say opening bid $399, BIN $599.
You could try starting higher, opening $499 and BIN $699 to see if you get lucky.

Just FYI, you can go to Advanced Search on ebay and click "Search completed listings only" to see what various similar items went for (or didn't go for) in the past.

Lovevly suit BTW.

A search for L. Barbera completed sales( it only goes back 2 weeks) brought this up:

http://clothing.search-completed.eba...lcZ0QQsaslopZ1

This is for both suits and sport coats. Note that the majority didn't sell and the range for suits was $103.50 for a used (Like New 42R) to $520 to a NWT very nice 46L.

Given that, I would start your suit at $249 with a BIN of $449 (if it's truly like new). And don't be surprised if the suit doesn't sell the first time you list it.

It's no secret that if you list an item with a reasonable but relatively high price, that being $249 in this case for a used Barbera, you will get it after a few selling cycles.

Thanks for all the advice. It's been helpful - the suit is worn (but clean) and not collezione sartioriale, so I'll aim at 250-350 or so. Thanks again - I'll post a link to the auction if anyone is interested.
