Hey gang...

Just posted the second episode of my web video series, Put This On. This time, we focused on Willie's Shoe Service. They've been making and repairing shoes in LA since the 50s - they actually made Charlton Heston's shoes for The Ten Commandments and the boots in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. They also make shoes for Bill Cosby and Jesse Jackson and others. Willie, the owner, is in his 80s, and we interviewed Raul, the manager, who's just the greatest guy ever. Anyway, we wanted to do a show about shoes that wasn't just about buying, and we were really happy to find Willie's.

Here's episode 2:

I saw this thread and said "Nice!" under my breath. Busy night but this might take priority over Lost.

I guess it's possible you're talking about the reef knot. I choose to believe it's my analogy, though.

Nicely done. I've been reading your blog since the beginning and I have to say it is one of my top three clothes/style sites. Much of it is pretty basic by StyleForum standards, but that's fine, and the advice is generally right on without being pedantic. Do you have a schedule for upcoming episode topics?

That's pretty much our goal. I think our perspective is interesting, even for SF's standards, and I want to be welcoming to anyone who comes along.

We've got some interviews penciled in. Nothing absolutely final, but hopefully we'll be talking with Joe Gordon-Levitt, Willie Brown and Paul Feig. And an episode about thrift/flea market shopping, one about black tie, maybe one about grooming.
