A little update - I went in and did a fitting. As is usual in bespoke shoe making, they make a full dummy shoe with scrap leather. In this case, it was pretty tight around my toes, so rather than adjust it for the final shoe, they're going to adjust the last further and make a second dummy shoe, which I'll pick up in a week or so and take home with me to wear around the house and gauge fit.

And Raul just mentioned to me that he's planning to move Willie's into the Don Ville space, since they have plenty of room in the workshop, so if you need shoe repair in LA, you can just take stuff there.

Last weekend I was in LA with a couple other SF members and we were able to visit Raul's shop. Couldn't have been a nicer gentleman to us. We were obviously not the sort of clientele to be ordering bespoke shoes, but he spent well over an hour talking to us and sharing his story. Very interesting experience and one of the highlights of our trip.

:)

YoungAmerican when do you expect to receive your bespoke shoes? Looking forward to the review of the final product. Would help decide placing an order or not.

Honestly, I've been crazy busy and haven't had time to go back in for another fitting. I've been playing phone tag with Raul.

Raul seemed busy last week as well. His modified last prices hover near AS MTO and G&G RTW.
