I love the look of this luggage, but:

1. I doubt I would pay sufficient funds to buy it.
2. It would probably look a little too precious when used (in the sense of cute or costumey, although it would also be too valuable for me to check at an airport). The duffel might carry on but the Cooper probably wouldn't meet size regulations.

It seems like a very high price at retail, and it seems like no bargain at the Ebay price!

BTW: Have all of you noticed the huge amount of RLPL stuff on Ebay. And there is plenty of RLPL always available at Brick and Mortar stores at deep discount. It makes me womder if Lauren knows that the great majority of RLPL will not sell for anything near retail. Perhaps this is part of their RLPL sales strategy.

Anyone have knowledge of this ?

If it were their strategy, you think they'd let everyone know that?

Any comments on the idea of flannel luggage? Strikes me as a pretty bad call. Flannel is not exactly hard-wearing as a trouser/suit fabric, and luggage gets a fair amount of abuse.

Am I wrong in thinking that this luggage would age extremely poorly? Or is that the point?

I think it would age very poorly, regardless of how high quality the fabric. A few years ago LV made some luggage in a cotton monogram fabric pattern and after a few trips and a few years it really starts to look shabby. Some items look good with age (Hermes Box calf, for example) and blemishes, but this started to look like a frayed, shabby carpet bag after a short time.

I have a feeling that this RLPL bag would do the same. Probably the leather parts would age nicely, but after getting banged around in a car or on a plane, that flannel wouldn't look nice at all.

I agree. I own a lot of RLPL all at 50% or more off... Never ever pay more. It's always available half off. I don't know who buys the stuff retail save NYC and Beverly Hills stores.. Maybe it's another brilliant marketing move by RL.
