As far as Celebrities go, I can't think of anyone that comes close to dressing as well as Prince Charles.

Wow--you watched the Oscars? Don't forget--movie star celebs often get paid or more likely get free designer clothing to advertise for the designer. So, sometimes it isn't always their choice, IMO.

Edit: I don't understand why Barack Obama is even mentioned in the article. His style is decent, but not outstanding.

I have long bee a HUGE FAN of PoW's dress style and sense. He ALWAYS gets i right.....and i would go so far as to say that he is my FAVE all time best dressed person!

So glad to hear the fact that Esquire picked him!

Spot on!!!

Beats the hell out of me, the collars on his shirts are awful and the knot on his ties are very questionable!!!

A sub-standard dresser at best! IMO.

Chuck certainly deserves to head the list. Plus, he sure keeps in great shape, which shows off the clothing very well. I envy having royal warrants to pass out to my suppliers who all want to dress me.

The patina on those shoes is incredible. But then again, if I had free reign on the Row and bespoke everything, I'd probably look bloody good all the time too!

What I like about him is that he continues to wear clothes he has had for years and years, never wavering or succumbing to even the most pervasive trend. Some of his overcoats must be decades old but you see him in them over and over.
As far as matching patterns and colours is concerned he is the best I've seen - sometimes you have to look very closely to see the differences at work because they are so subtle.

That reminds me of this Cary Grant vs. Fred Astaire point/counterpoint thing on Sartorialist way back. The FA dude basically made the point that while Grant was exceptionally well dressed, he was also exceptionally good looking, so the fact that he's regarded as a style icon is somewhat less remarkable than the fact that Astaire - a slightly built, balding, goofy lookin dude - is too. Behold the power of clothes.

Good example here...rocking the same look years later....classic will always be classic...

+1. Astaire was, pound for pound, more creative and inspired. The FA piece (by Boyer?) was better written, even though the CG piece was more satirically amusing

The PoW is also very informative to me as a dresser - he practically never fails to look fly

I think he is still riding the rep from when he was a Zegna guy. He was sharp in Zegna, the hickey/hartmax is ill fitting on him.
