Regular would be the widest pair of pants that I've worn (maybe it doesn't seem that way compared to the slim, but there is a big difference between both models).
Slim fit are a safer cut, but maybe more boring?

My guess is the outrageous duty on imports here (Canada), since BBS is in Toronto.
