Hi,

Short time lurker, first time poster. I love CMW but whenever I wear a sport coat I feel like I'm putting on airs because of my rural upbringing and my current social circle, which consists of mostly working class indie rock musicians in the pacific northwest of the USA. Anybody got any fun ideas for how to elevate a SWD outfit to be CMW-adjacent? Bonus points for stuff you can wear when it's 50 degrees Fahrenheit and raining, which is par for the course in this part of the world.

For reference, I think Willy Wang looks very good a lot of the time, but most of his outfits are a little too on the CMW side for what I would feel comfortable in. Here's a fit I'd totally rock, though:

I do this all the time, for example an untucked dress shirt, loose/slightly too big straight leg dress trousers with sneakers and a mac. Or swap the mac for a blazer and the sneakers for penny, tassel, or kiltie loafers. Another good combo is to swap the shirt for a tee and the coat or jacket for a hoodie (or wear a sweatshirt over the dress one)
