You are definitely correct that there is not much car produced today remotely similar to McLaren F1, such special car, but maybe closest of remote similarity is Zonda

I think Clarkson does a great job of getting to the soul of most cars. It's not a purpose built car, and the fact that it does what it does is incredible.

Something about these Paganis makes me think that being ugly isn't a requirement. But perhaps it's just this car.
