Which Red Wing boots do you recommend? I went to two local dealers (via the store locations link on the website), but most of the boots looked more work oriented; I'm looking for a dressier boot that is suitable for wearing with jeans, khakis, and the like. I couldn't tell which models the boots were which the stores had to offer (all they said was "comfortforce"). I believe one pair they had were these: http://www.redwingshoes.com/productd...px?prodid=1009

All RWs are workwear-oriented. The Gentleman Traveler (1911???) is the dressier model but it's still a bulky silhouette.

Yeah, I'd start thinking outside of Redwing if you want something dressier. Epaulet (an affiliate - see clickable banner at top of screen) has some really nice boots right now and you might get a SF discount still, but I'm not sure. Those Thorogood horsehide boots look awesome (p2)

Well, I realize they're not extremely dressy. But I've seen a lot of people recommending them/wearing them (in the WAYWN threads) with street wear, and some of them are a bit cheaper than brands like AE. Just not sure which models I should be after.

Well... I'd like to stay bellow $200, preferably $150. The Red Wings I saw at my local stores were going for about $150. But I'm not sure which model they were.

Description of suit on website:

Wool blend chaulk stripe two-piece suit: Two-button sport jacket with peaked lapels, chest pocket and slash pockets. Center vent. Matching trouser with front slash pockets and rear welt pockets. 12" rise. 38" inseam. 20" leg opening. Available in Navy. Made in Italy. Wool/cashmere. Dry clean.

38" inseam makes sense since pants are unhemmed. but a 20" leg opening??? what does that mean? does that have to be a typo?

should you size up on low-rise jeans? Ie if your normally a 32, and you get a pair of jeans that have a 7 or 8 inch rise, should you move up to a 33?

Not if it's going to mess up other measurements, just get a cut with a higher rise
