I still watch the original occasionally. Not sure that there is much more to add. Was comprehensive, violent, pertinent and meaningful when it was made, any embellishment will take it from macabre to maniacal.

A shock value film like a Saw movie or Hostel would ruin the meaning completely. I am also not so sure the lifestyle dipicted in the book is realistic or appropriate to today's day and age.

How are the filmmakers going to make this movie relevant? Patrick Bateman gets laid off, joins the Occupy Wall Street movement, and starts killing off the 1%?

i didn't think the movie was ever that great. i mean, the premise of the book isn't that he's crazy, it's that he actually is a murderer but can get away with it because he's rich, white and handsome (which is probably true)

Clearly you've never watched Law & Order.

It's about time they remade it, the original's like at least 11 years old. Gotta keep things fresh for the new generation. I'm looking forward to a score featuring some emo **** and Lady Gaga replacing Huey Lewis and Genesis.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

They're going to ruin it. The original is such a great dark comedy. The 80s backdrop is essential.

Christian Bale was phenomenal.

What next - No Country for Old Men with Ed Westwick as the cop and Justin Bieber as the serial killer?
