Creed 2 surprised me much like the first did. You just don’t expect much from spinoffs, let alone sequels to spinoffs. Great film!

The real standouts turned out to be Dolf Lundgren and Florian Munteanu believe it or not. The writers pulled off a hat trick and had you caring about those characters towards the end. Aided by some extremely solid acting and I almost found myself hoping they would see a victory instead of Creed and Rocky. Well almost... :)

Been watching Van Helsing (SyFy), pretty cool.(don't care for some of the secondary/tertiary plot lines, but the main one is worth it)

**** all these live action remakes of old Disney animated films. I keep saying it, but It would be nice if they took the source material and did something original with it.

Anybody seen the new Robin Hood yet? I saw a commercial for it and thought, "That looks like an awesome video game" before I realized it was actually a movie.

Looking at the box office numbers; no, I doubt anyone here has seen it.
I didn't even realize it was out yet. Even then, I don't plan on watching it in the theaters. It'll be something I watch on another long flight to somewhere or I'll catch on HBO/Showtime/Starz.

Yeah, like I said, it looked like a good video game. Looks like a ****** movie, which the reviews reinforce.

On a different note, Wreck It Ralph 2 was pretty damn good.

I finally watched Moana. ****** music, for the most part (maybe two good songs), but a good heroine and beautifully done. I liked Maui's tattoo gimmick and the pointlessness of the chicken (kind of annoyed the pig didn't make the trip). The overall hokiness and cliche plot kept it from being a great movie, but it was very good.
Also - this is way cool:
Clements and Musker were fascinated to learn during their research that the people of Polynesia abruptly stopped making long-distance voyages about three thousand years ago. Their navigational traditions predated those of European explorers, beginning around 300 CE. Native people of the Pacific possessed knowledge of the world and their place in it prior to the incursion of foreigners. For example, Kānaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians) were well aware of the existence of far away islands, had names for these places, and were interested in exploring them to benefit their societies. This voyaging heritage was made possible by a geographical knowledge system based on individual perspective rather than the European cardinal direction system. The reasons for the halt of this voyaging tradition remain unknown, but scholars have offered climate change and resulting shifts in ocean currents and wind patterns as one possible explanation. Native peoples of the Pacific resumed voyaging again a thousand years later. Clements and Musker set the film at the end of that era, about two thousand years ago, on a fictional island in the central Pacific Ocean, which drew inspiration from elements of the real-life island nations of Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga.
