Read the original article. The rumor is that Gunn and the new leadership want to start fresh. With a clean slate. Consider it a full reboot.

This doesn't mean they are dropping the characters. They will still make Superman and Wonder Woman movies for example. They just won't have any ties to the Snyderverse. I think it's the right call to be honest. It's all so convoluted at the moment and just wasn't working.

That's not to say I am happy about all the implications. The first WW was fantastic and SHAZAM! was a fun interpretation of the character. It would suck to drop them both even if it leads to better things down the line.

The article does suggest that the recent The Batman and its sequel/s will likely remain untouched. It was its own thing and highly successful so that's not surprising.

Sounds good to me. We're already on our 109th Batman iteration, so audiences are obviously game for reboots of the major properties.

I could see them doing another season of Peacemaker. It hardly felt connected to the larger DCU as it was. Just some random jokes and the cameos at the end.

Sucks for Cavill if these rumors are true. He left the Witcher thinking he would return as Superman.

Maybe sucks for Liam Hemsworth.
I'll bet they would unravel everything if Cavill said he wanted back...

Is there really that much to unravel? Cavill's committed for season 3, which doesn't even come out until next summer. Hemsworth is for season 4, which is only theoretical at this point.

True....I just don't know what contractual stuff might be in place.
They've tried to put a happy face on this, but you know they know ratings are going to suffer to some degree.

Rumor on why Cavill left is because he hated the writing for the Witcher.
Makes sense- I think he’s a big nerd and they went totally off canon for season 3 (not sure about 4). Doesn make sense either, since Witcher had plenty of source material to go through
