I forgot to mention the biggest thing I hated in the film. And that is the appearance of fatman Greg Grunberg. The fact that JJ made this tub of lard an X-Wing pilot is a sin on par with making Jar Jar Binks a senator in Attack of the Clones.
Neo's hate of the healthy body weight challenged is legendary.
It just doesn't make any sense. Although Star Wars is supposed to be "a long time ago" it's still obviously much more advanced than us. There shouldn't be any fat people, either by genetic manipulation or some kind of super-drug they take. Just like there shouldn't be anyone wearing glasses or using paper in space.
Enjoyed this review from HelloGreedo of the film even if I disagree with some of his points, including the whole Poe thing.
Could someone please embed it as I'm on my cell?
In some cultures / periods of history it was super fashionable to be fat as it showed you were wealthy enough to afford lots of food (ancient Egypt circa 1350 BC for example). I'm sure you could argue that on some planets where food is relatively scarce (Jakku for example) this could happen (LOL). Semi-related: I only realized Simon Pegg was the ugly alien dude on Jakku well after the credits rolled.
idk dude, when you look at their paintings from across different millennia in Eygpt the people look very much to the today's ideal this one is 1400bc

I agree with a lot of his review. Actually he reminded me of a lot of things I enjoyed about it (which can be easy to forget when you're busy nitpicking). I should probably go watch it a second time too.
He also nailed my feelings regarding Finn (although I didn't like the idea about him being revealed as a plant in the next movie).
Am I the only one was utterly underwhelmed by Cap Phasma?? I bet if you asked any random movie-goer if they remembered her,,, they would draw a huge blank. She was pretty forgettable TBH
