But i think they're getting close though. Not a lot of other online US retailers have the collection of geller, dbss and ervell they have. The vibskov stuff is popping up in more places but i see them more in euro online stores. But for stuff like ymc, apc, acne, etc... i don't know why people would buy from them. Hopefully this will mean i can pick up some geller and ervell stuff on sale this summer

I like Blackbird, but I think the staff eats too much of their own dog food. They're constantly out of stock on the best items, and their explanation is always that their staff and friends bought up all the sizes.

So order more?

They are always really helpful though, providing me with whatever measurements i ask for in a very timely manner, even over the phone sometimes

Blackbird's service is great--they're consistently more friendly and helpful than all the other boutiques I've been to on the east coast.

Ian is great in this regard too, though their lines aren't quite as interesting (excepting EG).

Well, if by East Coast, you mean NYC, you need to remember that treating people like crap is de rigueur, and not just in retail establishments. Blackbird does provide exemplary service. From my experience, so do most retailers in the midwest and the south, especially proprietor run stores. Even Bostonians, not known for being warm and fuzzy, are cinsiderably friendlier and more helpful than New Yorkers.

You're right, I was thinking exclusively of NYC. And possibly DC.

I haven't been to Stel's or Drinkwater's, but Gary especially has always been quite helpful over email and PM.

Yeah, John and Tina are great. There are plenty of less than friendly stores in the Boston area though.

When I spoke to a guy at APC when I order something by the phone, he said the sale will probably start around end of June or early July.

I suppose so.
Because when they had their last winter sale, I think they had everywhere simultaneously including online store.
