OMG... so nice. How much did your guy charge? Also, how are you like all eyelets in terms of taking off the boot?

It was $45 out the door. I undo the top four and loosen the next two as I normally would exit a boot with speed hooks. It just takes 15-20 seconds more per boot to lace up if I had to guess. I love the look and it's totally worth the extra 30 seconds of lacing imo.
I was quoted around the same for conversion to brass eyelets/speedhooks. The change of the sole only sounds slightly more expensive than what I've heard around SF.I was quoted $310 to customize my Alden Roy boots - $140 to replace black eyelets and speed hooks with antiqued brass and $170 to change the sole from plantation crepe to commando. I've never tried doing something like this before so I'm not sure if this quote is reasonable. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

For brass eyelets, send them to Sublime Goods--$40/pair, and Mack does great work.I was quoted $310 to customize my Alden Roy boots - $140 to replace black eyelets and speed hooks with antiqued brass and $170 to change the sole from plantation crepe to commando. Quote: I tried to contact Mack for similar work and it seems he is currently not doing modifications. He opened a store called Brogue and is devoting his attention to that that.
