Obama and Watches

I've read both McCain and Obama are left-handed. Today I noticed on the covers of two magazines, which feature the Prez-Elect, he's wearing (two different) watches and both and the left hand, with a white metal bracelet on the other. Does anyone know a significance to the bracelet?
A right-handed individual wearing a watch in the left hand is a bit odd, too. I may have seen him in other photos wearing a timepiece on the right wrist - not sure.
On one cover it looks like a Breitling or knock-off. Haven't noticed him wearing what I'd call an "elegant" watch - just casual or sporty though perhaps quite expensive and definitely complicated.

Do you have pics?

I would be a little surprised if any candidate were to wear a Breitling and no one said anything about it. First, it's an expensive watch and therefore shows that the candidate is either elitist or too rich to be in touch with the working class--depending of course on which candidate wore it! Second, it's a Swiss watch. There was a news report that one of the McCain children drove a Prius or something, rather than an American car. I am sure that if Obama were sporting a Swiss made watch with his union-made suit, someone would have pointed that out.

I think that Presidents Clinton and Bush both wore the Timex Ironman Triathlon during their campaigns. That's of course why I wear one. Makes me feel presidential!

Right handed here. I've worn watches on my left wrist since I was 12. However I wear a bracelet from Nepal my sister gave me from one of her many Asian excursions on my right wrist once and a while on weekends.

I always thought that most right-handed people wore their watches on their left wrist, although I'm right-handed and wear my watch on my right wrist...

Okay - some are a bit confused here.... Standard is right-handed/left wrist; left-handed/right wrist.
I had forgotten about that war-related bracelet thing. It was brought up in a national debate and both candidates announced whose their bracelet was in honor of.
As for a Swiss watch, shame on anyone who makes a big issue regarding a candidate who wears a non-American-made watch. There are certain things America does not lead the world in and the vast majority of the world's best watches (workings, style, quality) are indeed made in Switzerland. Sure, there used to be hundreds of decent American watch manufacturers but that was decades ago.

Still, he's the president. He has decades to wear whatever he wants after his presidency ends. During it, he has an image to uphold. I'm guessing he will stick to donated watches from significant non-profit groups, or a Hamilton.

As to Prez Clinton, he is/was an avid watch collector. He is seen wearing several different Kobold watches, among others, in pictures over the years. Kobold is a small watch company in PA and Michael Kobold's watches are on par with Sinn watches, but more pricey.

Lefty wearing on my right. Feels way to weird to have my watch on my left hand.
