New releases today, Plain Toe Blucher:
Are these made by Rancourt? If so, they should pay OSB to consult on their last designs.
does anyone else have the Oakstreet boat shoes?
i'm wondering why they didn't do the traditional 360 lacing system.
can we get more photos? I wonder if the guys in the Alden thread have seen these?! look really good - nice pick up!
ehhh i get that but with good leather laces you shouldn't have breaks occur often. hell, i have a pair of Sperry's pushing 10 years old with the original laces.they've been quoted saying that when you break a 360 lace, pretty much the only way to replace the lace is to either take it to a cobbler, or send it back to the manufacturer. Normal lacing avoids that problem

I don't buy that, you can buy re-lacing needles and do it fairly easily yourself. That's just what they have to say instead of "it's easier to manufacture without 360 lacing."
think that through for just a second. 360 is cheaper to manufacture. with the 2 piece, they have to run the lace through completely as you would for 360 but then stop and stitch the end of the lace down.
i don't see why more boat shoe companies don't do it. saves the annoyance if the lace breaks
