I've done the due diligence - read the stickied and referenced threads, read SuFu, done the searches, posted in the ask/get thread. Haven't gotten a real answer, and by that I mean something that is corroborated by more than one person. Maybe that's because there are so many opinions on this matter.
Here goes:
I just got a pair of Nom de Guerre jeans with selvage (my due diligence has told me that they make both with and without selvage and this matters). I haven't washed them, and I haven't soaked them. I believe they are sanforized (due diligence). Should I soak them? I've worn them pretty much daily for about a week now.
Reason to soak them:
Get shrinkage out of the way - I don't want fades in the wrong places. If they're sanforized, am I correct in thinking that shrinking won't be much?
Reason not to soak them:
Gets rid of starch, which might decrease creasing severity and lead to less pronounced whiskers/honeycombs.
Opinions?
