Post-Imperial Ijebu camp shirts project - Pre-orders

We're excited to welcome Niyi back in to the NoMan family this fall - he's furthered the development of the Post Imperial concept and comes through with a thoughtful brand, focused on making in Africa (his new workshop is in Kenya, fabrics are still dyed, and often made, in Nigeria) and on using more deadstock fabrics (FW20 is great)

He also developed a camp collar shirt style - the Ijebu shirt, which showcases the adire dye process, his lovely patterns and details (like the front panel stitch). Even though the shirts pictured only made it to a couple of Japanese retailers this spring, we wanted to work with him to bring you these 5 shirts for the summer (and beyond!). The shirts in these photos were dyed on seersucker cotton, but the shirts we're making now will be in Niyi's favorite cotton (spun and woven in Nigeria): futua cotton. Niyi expects the shirts to be finished late July, so we're hoping for an early August delivery, just in time to wear those in August and September - and then of course next year :)

@gdl203 did it! After four years of requests in this thread, over email, and Instagram, we’re able to reissue the legendary Naissance Grizzly jacket in both the original brown as well as new black colorways.

A personal favorite of mine, I can confidently say it is in my all-time top three favorite items from the store (and life). It’s a really, really cool alternative to a shearling or other waist-length fall/winter coat, and they nailed all of the details. The lambskin body and shearling mean it’s really soft, with a totally different feel to the heavy and stiff grizzly jackets you typically see, but the blanket lining (and shearling body, and wool knit inner cuffs) make it genuinely warm when you zip it up. The lack of waist belt gives it a cleaner look, opting for some adjustable side buckles instead.

And everything in between.

Naissance quoted us four months for production and delivery with an ETA of November, which is when it will start getting properly cold for most of us. We’ll be wrapping up the pre-orders pretty quickly because of this, closing them at the end of the week. Be sure to use PREORDER15 for your pre-order discount, and post up your pics if you have them!

For sizing, I recommend ordering your typical Japanese brand size, or one size up from your typical US size. My grizzly is a Medium and is spot on.

You can pre-order the all-new black version here. Please note these photos are renderings and @g transistor and @troika 's best approximations of what it will look like. There are some details we don’t know about – zipper color and lining color most notably, but I trust they’ll do a good job.

Rota SS21 Pre-Orders

It's that time of the year. More fabric options than ever.

As usual, pick your size (including sizes we do not carry off-the-rack) and color, but there are no modifications or MTM/MTO features. All fabrics are offered in our regular belt-loop style or our higher-rise side-tab style, except for garment-dyed style which are only offered in the belt loop style.

Always a highlight of the pre-orders season, we're happy to present our selection from everyone's favorite Aran Isle knitwear maker. The focus is again on their excellent linen, with new options and returning favorites in solids, "donegals", and ombre. One of the things that makes Inis Meain pre-orders so fun is that they have quite a wide range of yarn options, so if you have your eye on something a little different that you don't expect stores to pick up, you can easily get it made in your preferred style and size. This is how I got my optic white linen crewneck, which has gotten a lot of wear and there are plenty of others in this thread that have some very special sweaters through this program.

Additionally, we're excited to introduce a new, exclusive jacket style in their unwashed linen.

Greg previewed it earlier, but it's a new style jacket with a few details that come together to give it a relaxed vibe. More specifically, it's a 1.5 breasted style with a single button, dropped shoulders, and overall looser silhouette. They make it up in their unwashed linen, which has a drier hand than the other ones and drapes beautifully in this kind of style, as well as wearing very cool.

Pre-order new, exclusive Relax Jacket here.

We're also bringing back another exclusive, the buttonless cardigan that we introduced this spring. It quickly found its place in our lineup, so we're happy to offer it again now that customers have a good sense of what it's all about.

Pre-order relaxed linen cardigan here.

Inis Meain always have really lovely mixed yarns, so it was a treat to see three of them combined in these attractive gradient options, each meant to evoke a certain type of scenery on the island. (You'd guess it would be something like mossy stone walls, or a sunset, or a view of the coast, but instead it's particularly evocative things like "136", "132", and the all-new "137")

Pre-order linen ombre tunic here

Now the OGs, the linen tunics and crewnecks, available in solids or donegals. These deserve all of the praise they get, as well as their almost rabid following. The linen yarn Inis Meain uses really sets a high benchmark. It regulates temperature well, it's soft, it's easy to maintain, it holds its shape, and it just looks good. There are a few returning favorites as well as a few new solids and donegals, so definitely scroll through the swatches on the item page.
