I just found this forum and was looking through to see if I could find some answers before starting a thread, but here it goes.
I've got one suit now that I got made in Bangkok, I only paid maybe $350 or so for it, I was only about 2 years out of school, so didn't have much money. Its lasted me about 5 years now, but I think its time to step up. I went looking at Bloomingdales, Nordstrom for made to measure suits, they had the usual Zegna, Hickey Freeman, Burberry, etc.
I'm not sure where to start, should I go to a department store? Go directly to a Zegna store? Or find a tailor in L.A? My friends wait for a tailor to come in from Hong Kong and they go to the hotel where the tailor is staying, then the shirt/suits are shipped from overseas once finished. Who knows how those are produced.
I'm willing to spend up to $2,000, I'm looking to get a nice black suit for formal occasions, since I'm short 5'5" but with a 16" neck, 31 sleeve, makes it tough to buy suits/shirts.
Any help is appreciated! I'm not quite good knowing all of the abbreviations and stuff, trying to learn!
Thanks
