AKA MOLESKIN Appreciation THREAD

Instead of just another "XY Appreciation thread" I thought this would make a nice title.
I'll start with one of my very few WAYWRNs:

But back on track... where could I get myself some moleskin trousers? What's the classic color for 'em?

I wouldn't wear one; too flamboyant for me. But on the right person it can look really good I think.

Almost every traditional english supplier has them; and I don't think there's one classic colour for them. But surely brick, burnt orange, bottle green would be considered classics. For the possible range they can come in, have a look at Brisbane Moss for example: http://brisbanemoss.co.uk/colours.as...1A&cloth=MOL00

Damn it, I knew this thread wouldn't get/stay on track with that title...

But, as an attempt: can someone explain to me the technical difference between velvet and moleskin?

You can change the title of the thread by editing the title of the first post.

Generally, velvet is a waste of time and money while moleskin is an uncomfortable waste of time and money.
